This is a graph that shows the violence that was being expressed through works of literature at the time early to late 1800s. This study looked at violent words that were used in two prominent newspaper works that were being circulated throughout England. Such words like “murder” and “robbery” were words that have been on the rise. In the current times the amount of words has increased significantly since the early 1800s and looks like it will continue to increase with the projected numbers shown on the graph. This can be because of the different wars and revolutions that have been occurring throughout Europe and it is greatly being reflected upon in the English culture.
