NOTES FROM THE CHANCERY:

By Kelly Wedlake
  • In the case concerning two wards of the state, Ada Clare and Richard Carstone, it was decided that both wards would be placed with John Jarndyce at Bleak House for the foreseeable future.  Miss Esther Summerson, educated at Greenleaf in Reading, will be Miss Clare’s companion and also join Clare and Carstone at Bleak House after a stay at the Jellby’s of Lincolnshire.
  • Miss Flite continues to wait for her portion of the case Jarndyce v. Jarndyce to be heard.  While a patient woman, Miss Flite has been reminded by the court to allow the wards of teh state and case to enter and exit the Chancery in peace.
  • In the ongoing legal battle of our century, Jarndyce v. Jarndyce, there has been no significant changes.  The legal discussion over costs rages on.
